Wow, those leopard shots are astounding (where were they taken?). Love the owls as well. Nice collection.

The pair of owls is a nice image!

The hoopoe dust bath is also very special.

Many thanks for sharing such a fine collection.

Your love of Sri Lankan wildlife shows!

Superb collection! I love the group of elephants, and the bear (sloth bear?) sitting in the mud.

Thank you for the lovely comments.

The leopards were taken in Wilpattu National Park, which is Sri Lanka's largest park.

The owls are very special as this is a one of a kind sighting. The species is called Serendib Scops Owl which is found only in a small area in the rainforest in the South of the country. And they were discovered to exist as a species only in 2001. Tilll then they went unknown to science or man. These two birds are juveniles which are very rare to see, and one of the few if not only photo for two chicks together in the world.

Thank you Tony, yes indeed its a Sloth Bear. Cute but dangerous animal in Sri Lanka. Not an animal to confront while on foot :)

Love the owls. Are they adult scoops owls?

Rajiv, would love to hear more about Wilpattu NP - how crowded does it get in comparison to Yala? What time of the year do you recommend a visit? Thnaks so much.
