Ah, grasses are soo soo important. May seem like a very dull subject, but the more you read, the more fascinating it becomes. And with over 600 species, there's lots of diversity to explore and enjoy. I will own a copy as soon as it comes out.

Well done for scolding that family. I met a similar group in Tanzania before the days of cell phones at a cheetah sighting. The teenagers were all asleep! Why oh why do parents bother? Great trip report covers some areas we are visiting next year. Pen

Thank you for posting; I hope to be following in your footsteps next year and appreciate your detailed report! Love the lion cubs, the zebra interference on the hyena hunt, the many birds! Good to know that elephants go elsewhere during the migration; makes it all the more important for me to find them in Samburu when we go next summer (for us).
