I had originally posted this as a female Goldfinch, but I am now inclined ( because of the bill and the yellow stripe) to think it is an immature male Greenfinch.

I am happy to be corrected though

that's a lovely goldfinch. is that found only in the UK? there are so many beautiful colourful birds in other countries. I wish more migratory birds would come through our little island.

goldfinches can be found through most of mainland Europe. Infrequent in Scandinavia though
