266. Rose-ringed Parakeet, Peckham Rye, 2/4

So like so much of London, we have a large roosting flock of these in our local park.

I'll start with some UK easys and a few from my current SA trip.   For SA ones, I'm going to pick images which I don't think I'll better or common ones which I'll shortly stop taking images of.

It's been a long break since I've posted - work has been crazy! Still I managed to get a trip in down to London's Wetland Centre and another to Rainham Marshes. Both were very productive.

The Grey Heron of Europe and Africa are the same (Ardea Cinerea) so this doesn't count.

There are plenty of these birds nesting at the LWC but (quite rightly) you're not permitted to get close to their nesting area so it's all long range photography.

Not the most naturally setting but this was one of my target species and I could only see them on the cow fences.

293. Skylark, Rainham Marshes, 16/6

A classic EBC but I don't think that I will get another shot at this bird. I'm not 100% but I think this is a Skylark - you can just about see the crest.

More EBC's. The tidal flats of the Thames are a good spot to see these birds near London but it's hard to get close given the typography of the marshes.

These are a real highlight of Rainham Marshes. I've never seen so many in such a small area.
