Can one have too much time in the Masai Mara! A resounding NO! Safari Sept 2016

ST "tells" me this topic is quite old, and I should not bother posting here. But I just read your TR from start to finish now, and I am amazed. Wow, loved all the sightings and the spectacular photos!

Yes, I started reading this in preparation (hopefully) for a trip to either Kenya or Tanzania, or maybe a mix of both in 2022. Covid pushed everything a year later. In any case, I thought a river crossing was high on my list, and after reading your TR I realized it's not, for all the reasons you mentioned: the long wait, the crowds, the suffering. I know I would not bear sitting next to anyone rooting for the croc, so thank you! Not only for the delight your photos brought to me, but the enlightenment brought by your words and thoughts.

Thanks @shazdwn and @xyz99 for checking into this older report and your kind comments. ! if you haven't done so already, you might want to read my 2nd Mara trip report:

And I'm hoping to return again this coming February, COVID permitting.

Yay - will give it a read.  We are booked for Jan 2022 for Amboseli and the Mara, fingers crossed we can go (right now we are not allowed to leave Australia).
