206. Melodious Warbler, Alajar, Spain, June

I'm never 100% sure on these warblers but this is my guess. The close looking Icterine is not found in this part of Spain.

208. Common Waxbill, Alajar, Spain, June

I ummed and arred about using this as my 200 because whilst I'm highly familiar with it - I really didn't expect to find it in Europe. There is now though an established population in Portugal which clearly has started spreading into Spain.

@xelas and @Galana - thanks for the encouragement - maybe you could slip me a couple of your rejects ;) and I'll make it across - no one will ever know

Try a few EBCs. As long as you don't try to pass off a duck as an Ostrich all should be well.:)

209. Little Owl, Los Naveros, Spain, June

Breaking out the old polaroid again! I did two early morning birding trips whilst we were on holiday at the Costa de la Luz and whilst the weather was typically brilliant it was heavily overcast on both mornings that I went out.

On a side note if anyone ever visits Cadiz and the surrounding area there is a brilliant free birding guide online, compiled by John Cantelo, with detailed routes and potential sightings. I was restricted to only going out between 6-9am so I only visited Los Naveros, but the route provided was excellent.

Worth a day out.

Do you have a link to that free guide?

Are you comfortable with the Kite in 210?
