Magical Madikwe - A safari with the parents

Inspired by the lions, we had lunch in the middle of the bush. It was something my wife arranged with the staff as a surprise for my parents. They couldn't believe this was all set up just for the four of us. My parents enthusiasm (and ours ofcourse as well) made the staff feel extra proud.

They set up a small buffet with delicous food and a table for the four of us with nice views of Madikwe.

And if this lunch, in addition to the wildlife, didn't make this day special yet, we finished it back at the lodge with a private dinner at the boma. A very nice candlelight table, many lanterns and a campfire. This was the perfect ending of a perfect day on safari and a wonderful stay at Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge in Madikwe.

It was really special to share this experience with my parents. It's been over 3 months now, but they are still so excited about it. If anyone ever thinks about going on safari with family or friends, I can really recommend it.

Hope you enjoyed this TR as it has now come to an end. :)

I have enjoyed this report immensely especially as we are going on safari with our family (daughter and husband and 2 grandchildren 16 and 18) in July to Sabi Sand and Manyeleti. So looking forward to it. Thanks for a great report.

Glad you liked it @KiwiGran! If you're going to Sabi Sands, you're really in for a treat with lots of close encounters. The past year I've been to Ulusaba in March and Arathusa in October, both in Sabi Sand and had some amazing sightings there. Haven't been to Manyeleti myself, but I'm sure you'll have a great time there as well.

Just now I've started the trip report of our stay at Ulusaba in Sabi Sands.
