KNZ 2016 Birds ID

I keep checking my past trips pictures and allways find a few birds to add to my list, but the conclusion is allways that I have to go back to those places because I only find a few, some that are caught in the picture of another subject.

 

The trip was to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi ans St.Lucia/iSimangaliso:

 

Black-collared barbet

 

Hadada ibis

 

Egyptian goose

 

Black-bellied bustard 

 

 

African darter

 

African fish eagle

 

Cattle egret + White-faced whistling duck

 

Gray-hooded gull

 

Pink-backed pelican

 

And I ask for confirmation that this one (terrible picture) is a Goliath heron:

I think it is a Purple, but I am only about 51.5% sure of that.

It will be tough to be sure, I thought about the goliath because checking pictures online it seems that the bill is darker in the upper part, it was mainly because of that.

My reason is the grey patch on the crown.

I can use either the Goliath or the Purple heron.

Btw, we have purple here, I think they are starting to arrive.

I'd say it's Goliath, that was my immediate reaction when I saw the picture. Extremely long neck, and sharp contrast on the breast.
