I was glad to see this announcement on KenyaBirdsNet.   James Bradly is extremely knowledgeable about Kenya bird distribution + ecology and a very good field man as well:

Dear All,

Some here may be interested in a book I have recently completed on the Birds of Nairobi, which is currently available as an eBook in pdf format at a cost of $8 USD. The book is intended for use together with a good field guide. It is 90 pages and includes introductory sections, a map, and details of status and ecology for 625 species that have occurred in Nairobi. If you want to know what to expect at Karura Forest, Nairobi NP or the Langata Giraffe Centre, or what special birds you might have in your garden, this book should help. If there is sufficient demand, a printed copy will be available for sale within the next year, at a cost of somewhere around $18-20 USD. Some sample page previews are attached here.

At present the eBook pdf version may be purchased through PayPal. Using a credit card does not require a Paypal account, but if that is not an option, PayPal accounts can now be topped up using Mpesa (https://www.dignited.com/33471/how-to-link-your-paypal-account-to-m-pesa/) with payment made via an email transfer. To order this book, send an email to the address below to receive payment instructions and a download link:

crotonbooksandmedia@gmail.com

1) In your email, please indicate if you will be paying by credit card or paying via email transfer (requires a PayPal account).
2) Also indicate if you are ordering just the pdf version or just the printed version (for delivery in 2021), or both. The cost of a pdf copy will count towards a print version if ordered.

Please also forward this email to anyone you know who may be interested in the book but not signed up to Kenya Birds Net.

Best wishes and good birding,

James Bradley
