Glaucous and Iceland Gulls photo ID guide

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who struggles to ID gulls.

"Collectively referred to as 'white-winged gulls', these two sporadic winter visitors can be present in good numbers in some years, although are generally scarce enough to make a day’s birding – especially the further south and east you are. While often straightforward to identify, both species can display considerable variation in plumage, size and structure, complicating matters. Hybrids and leucistic birds further muddy the waters.
