Thursday two Cattle Egret had been spotted some 40 miles from the house.

This would be a detour of app 1 mile going home from work so I decided to bring the camera to work the next day.

They are still very rare in Denmark. Over the last 5 years a few have ben spotted and they are probably going to breed here in a not too distant future.

They were easy to find and @Galanalaw certainly applied here:D

Sorry. Bad manners.

How are the eyes progressing?

Great sighting of the Red-Breasted Goose - very rare here as well. Cattle Egrets have bred for the very first time last year in Austria - let´s see if they will do it again this year. Great shot of the Sparrowhawk in flight!

Good progress and some beautiful photos.

The Red-breasted Goose is a lovely bird, your persistence paid off.

@PeterHG, @TonyQ, @michael-ibkthank you for the kind words

@Galana Appreciate your concern about my eye. The result of the operation was more or less status quo. If I am lucky there will be a minor improvement over the next year.

The right eye is no good for reading or photography but still decent as the distance increases ie I can still drive a car without issues.

The left eye is not affected so i should not complain.

Hope all goes well for you. If it is any comfort I have found that Lady G sees more of my misdemeanours with her one good eye than is good for me.

Saturday evening another rare species had been spotted app 10 miles from the house.

A first for the Island and still quite a rare bird in Denmark.

I missed this species in Kenya so it was nice to have my first sighting in Denmark.

Cool sighting. A very rare bird here as well - we are having a small influx of them this year, apparently 45 of them were sighted today in Western Austria.

Neither have we - we have had years with one or two, many years with none at all. I have only ever seen one here once before. The report is unconfirmed so far by photos but comes from a trustworthy birder.

Another uncommon visitor to the ponds at the Sugarfactory.

I see it in the winter from the beach, but always quite far out.

This is my first sighting of a bird in breeding plumage so sort of a lifer.

I love my "new" Canon EOS R7 but I could not get the Red Eye Reduction to work B)

I went back to the Sugarfactory to look for a Greater Reed Warbler.

Found it but no photographs.

I did however get these.
