Re139. From your location is that not Usumbiro Barbet? Sometimes conspecific with d'arnauds but it is good. Note bill colour and breast band.

Thanks a lot Fred ; before I posted it I read about that local race of the D’Arnaud’s found in the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem and indeed some but not all consider it to be a distinct species : the Stevenson Fanshawe Birds of East Africa does but the Collins , the Sinclair Ryan Birds of Africa and even the Birds of Kenya ( edition 1999) don’t 

I agree with you though about the bill and breast band and should have mentioned the distinction even if our local guide was only talking about D’Arnauds in general

Schalow's Turaco and Ross's Turaco are present in tall riverine woodland and open forests of the Mara but not in the conservancies we visited but some others were :
