Thanks for linking to this @AKR1- watched a couple of evenings ago.

Very interesting, quite poignant. We went to Tortillis just after he was there and Junior was our driver/guide. He spoke very warmly about Klaus Tiedge and said he learnt a huge amount from him, about photography and also watching wildlife. Junior said he had never met anyone who would go to such lengths for a shot and whose patience was extraordinary. This show in the images he took and the background in this video.

I was at Tortellis when another famous photographer- Nick Brandt was there- in residence for a full month I was told. We saw him twice in the field with a vehicle where seats had been removed and one side was removable. Also saw him on the ground near the vehicle. He shoots exclusively in monochrome and elephants were one of his primary attractions ( as we can see from his magnificent photographs and books). Recall  he went straight to his room in the evenings and did not socialize with guests.

This is the way the pros photograph from way low. But looks pretty risky and wonder if they are allowed to outside the vehicle near large animals. no idea where this is but could well be Amboseli?

@AKR1that is a strange instagram clip. The soundtrack is not "live" and has been dubbed over. The lovely big Ellie is Craig, very clear from his notched ear and the poster has many shots of Craig in his real. This was Amboselli.

Craig is a really placid and quiet gentleman. We sat (in a vehicle) within 10' of him in 2018. He was with another big bull and a few females and wandered along towards us, had a sniff, and wandered on. Our guide was really unbothered by his proximity whereas he moved the vehicle away from another couple of elephants who he said were unpredictable.
