Your stealth with the buffalo outside your tent paid off!  You are so right that it is all about the rains. The rain brought out the variety of species you saw.  The video of the dung beetle shows them at their best.  We'd always like a little longer, but your trip was long enough to produce abundance.

Some beautiful sightings and just amazing animal numbers. What a place this is at that time of year.

When we’re you there by the way, Joel? I guess late February?  It was bit of Feb, first part of March...supposedly the height of the calving season and even though the rains are a bit wonky, I think we had confirmation---wilde calves everywhere!

Hope to be on safari again with y'all someday soon!
