recently returned from a Japan trip. didn't expect much in the way of Crane sightings as it was supposedly out of season. we found quite a few as we traveled around Hokkaido, many near Kushiro-Shitsugen National Park. very majestic bird. most sightings were of pairs but they didn't cooperate much in being able to photograph both at the same time.
