Natural England, the RSPB and Anglian Water are putting forward proposals to reintroduce the bird which became extinct in England 200 years ago. The Press Association carries the full story here.

Great! They are wonderfull birds. In Holland they had reintroduction plans too, but they appeared by themselves a few years ago. (about 10km from my house!) Since then they have even bread successfully!

 

Usually you can only see them far away in the distance. Once I saw one fly over me from just meters away. Boy, they are big!
