This sad report from www.dailymail.co.uk talks of the Worcester's buttonquail, thought to be extinct for at least 20 years which was recently filmed being sold in a Phillipines market place for the sum of 10 pence, and before it could be rescued, was cooked and eaten. Could it have been one of the last of the species? Read the full article here.

I read about that in our local paper. I too felt sad, but also hopeful because where there is one, there is likely to be another.
