As summer peaks at Ranthambhore, life becomes difficult for animals as basic essentials food, shelter & water become a scarce commodity. Activity in the park remains confined to areas near water points, tigers love to spend most of their time in & around water bodies or cool shady places. As herbivores need to visit water holes frequently, the predators concentrate their activity at these water points in search of food.

While most areas of park are devoid of any activity, tiger sightings are relatively easy. T6 a dominant male of Berda, Semli area can be seen cooling off in a water body.

Hi, day temperature crosses 40 degrees( centigrade) easily....hovers between 42-45 in the months of May & June. While the heat is difficult to bear, it is a very good time for tiger sightings as- increased visibility, limited movement of animals & concentration of activity around water points.

Thank you for uploading and sharing such a compelling tiger image.

I especially admire the photographer's perspective, which is as if one was at tiger level.

The motion of the pwas and legs conveys so well the sense of a family in motion.
