There are some fabulous images here. I visited Duba Plains in August 2009. Russel Freidman was there. My guide at the time was named Spike. Spent 3 nights but no kills. The herds were in evidence and we did see an unsuccesful hunt. Would love to revisit when funds permit however I understand that it is now under the management of Great Plains instead of Wilderness Safari's.

Here is Spike last year driving the then brand new raised Landcruiser called the swamp vehicle:

My favorite picture of the Lioness Ma di Tau's three cubs waiting for their mother. We spend a truly memorable afternoon with them in one of the most stunning parts of the concession, and it remains a cherished memory of Duba.

Hey Hari,

Haven't spoken to Johan in a while, but yesterday he tried to reach me on my cell phone. Unfortunately I didn't hear it as I wave been working in the garden the whole day. If I have time, I'll give him a call tonight.

Ciao,

J.

It's plain to see why you cherish the memory of this encounter.

Your photography is superb, bringing out the cubs' anticipation of their mother's return.

Until reading this topic tonight, I had no idea that Duba was in Botswana.

Safaritalk is a great educational resource.

Thank you for this image.

Hari,

Please add some of your recent trip pictures to this thread if you have time. Very few folks here appear to have been to Duba in the last couple of years.

Your pictures bring back wonderful memories of our green season Duba trip three years ago. It remains one of the most stunning concessions I have ever visited.

Look forward to your report.
