Barranco Alto and Pantanal, a yearly appointment

Recommended Posts

Amazing trip report, congratulations for your pictures and your involvement in this detailed description.

I have been really astonished by the quality of your observations.

Apart from FBA, if you had 4-5 other places to recommend in Northern and Southern Pantanal, what would be your suggestions? Please explain the assets for each suggestions. I would be interested to get reference princes per day per person on a base of 2 pax. Do you think it is better to book with the lodge or with a private guide?

Cheers

Thank you for your kind words.

Sorry for the late answer but I was away for the last 18 days.

Apart from FBA, I have 2 places to recommend in the south, Fazenda Baia das Pedras and Refugio da Ilha, and one in the north, Rio Claro, for the reasons mentioned previously. Unfortunately, I do not know their actual level of prices. In the south, It is always better to book directly with the lodge, but most of them, apart from FBA, does not speak english. In the north, it's better to go through a serious private guide, like TonyQ did.

Well, I thought I had finished with this TR. Going through my slides library for "Selinda, a ten year's love story" and other future historic reports, I found some slides made in 2006 in the Pantanal.
