Dear All,

Never too late to start a Trip report, I suppose???  I am officially locked down for 21 days starting today (so is all of India) ....... As I dream of Botswana ........ Never too late to start the editing ;)

Fabulous time with Vundi ....... Great Plains are a phenomenal operator with immaculate details ironed down to the smallest details ......... Superb food and wine, great service, details down to the smallest elements ......... Overall, a great time to be had!

Here's the first bunch of images ........

Next batch of images .........

The Selinda Reserve seemed to have Leopard on demand .......

The young pair of cheetah made their way from the Southern Section of Kwando - I am told by Selinda guides that they cover a huge territory from Lebala through Selinda, into Savuti.  (not to be confused with the Big boys up in Lagoon area)

Thanks Mike - he’s very well ... unfortunately, his visit in April to the USA has to be postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. I hope he will be able to go later .....

@madaboutcheetah

Thanks for starting a new report on the beautiful Selinda Reserve   ; in these uncertain and dark times every  new topic to dream about  is extremely welcome  !

Posted

Hari, are those lions from the Selinda pride or the Wapoka?

madaboutcheetah
Posted

Thanks @BRACQUENE

@Bush dog - this is selinda pride..... wapoka almost always in lebala nowadays.....

These are magnificent photos--thanks so much for sharing. Which is your favorite cat? Mine is the leopard--although I have never seen a tiger in the wild (only at the zoo) so if I ever get to India that could depose the leopard.

@mtanenbaum - Thank you..... cheetah, cheetah, cheetah ..... easy answer!!!! 😊

In this instalment -a nomadic male Lion who popped out of the mopane ..... He was okay with one vehicle, but, apparently after we left and two other vehicles got in, he got a little frisky!

@madaboutcheetah thank you for writing another Botswana trip report. Your photos are beautiful.

I am curious - was it very hot in November and was it raining?

madaboutcheetah

Thanks @Athene - Yup quite hot..... Just the first couple of T'storms ......

In this instalment - we had missed the Lioness take down the lechwe by perhaps a few seconds!!! Quite gory to see her pull out the foetus ........

Great that all you busy travellers are now forced to stay home, as Trip reports are coming our way :D. Beautiful photos.

All ok with me, thanks.  You stay safe too.  Likely more population density wherever you are now than in the wilds of Botswana.

@madaboutcheetah

That Selinda landscape with those islands with ilala palm trees, so different than a lot of others in Africa, gorgeous.

Was the first picture on #17 taken in the business lounge of Selinda international ?

Lovely report Hari. Selina looks fabulous. The second picture above of the shot from inside  the common area looking overlooking the stunning landscape Is a poignant reminder of the Bush during this time of urban lockdowns. Reminds me of the the old Duba Plains camp.
 Stay safe all.

@Bush dog - correct, Mike .... so on the day of arrival vundi had organised tea on arrival because he didn’t want to waste game drive time ... we sent the bags to

You can process Botswana photos as part of your lockdown routine, @madaboutcheetah.  Stay safe!

@madaboutcheetah, 2nd shot, I bet there's not one person here who doesn't wish they were sitting on one of those Ottomans right now.

@madaboutcheetah  Fantabulous as usual!  I hope there is much more to come.  I, too, am dreaming of Botswana.
