Thanks @xelas, @PeterHG, @michael-ibkand @shazdwn

It was an amazing sight and I am pleased the photos came out as well as they did as I didn't want to get too close and disturb it.

When it flew off it must have gone under a bush further down the garden as we found more feathers there later on.

Wow! that's a real dramatic shot with the starling staring directly into its predator. I wouldn't have been able to watch but good on you for the amazing series

Excellent captures of the Sparrowhawk but I can understand how difficult it must be to watch. It's a long painful death for the victim I imagine.

On our way home from Cumbria we stopped by Pine Lake near Carnforth to see what was there.  I was hoping for Pochard but instead we found some very obliging Oystercatchers.

There was a pair of Great Crested Grebes giving a short courtship display which we were lucky to catch.

We have been keeping an eye on the pair of Tawny owls that I opened my BY with.  Mainly they have been well hidden in the same tree but last week one of them was showing a little bit better.

Another trip to the coast to try and improve on previous pictures.

This one of a Turnstone is the best I could manage as I couldn't find them at all on the most recent visit.
