142) Yellow-bellied Greenbul

I don't know what the Greenbul family did to ornithologists, but it seems they were not favoured when it came to getting named.

And, to end it off, an almost-lifer. I have previously seen an immature bird, but this is the first time I have seen the adult.

There will hopefully be just one more trip this year, but to a repeat destination, so I don't expect many new faces.

Excellent timing, Peter, to refresh my SA birds memory with great snaps. In about 10 days we will share the country but sadly not the city.

A lot of very good shots in your batch, Peter! I know the Myna is not popular, but you captured it beautifully. That Mountain Wagtail would have been a lifer for me. I did not even know about it’s existence.

A fine set of new faces. Congratulations of the Klaas' Cuckoo. Always good to get that one.

  • 1 month later...

In early December we again had the opportunity to visit the Lowveld. Same area as the beginning of the year. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for photography, but the area did get some much-needed rain.

I think in total we had probably half an hour of "golden light" in the 10 days we had there.

Some possible product improvements:

Kurrichane Buttonquail:
