Congratulations on a great all round trip. Always hard to dip on 'certainties' but that's how it goes sometimes.

175/E38) Sardinian Warbler (Curruca melanocephala) / Samtkopf-Grasmücke

Salina Salt Pans, Malta, 23/3/2024. I had the pleasure of visiting Malta for work reasons for a few days. Since I was there with a friend from work my birding time was minimal, and Malta really is not a great place for birdwatching anyway:

The annual slaughter

Sardinian Warbler is a very common bird in the Mediterranean but like all Warblers not keen to pose (although other Warblers are much more difficult).

Thank you! You know, actually I did not think much of the original photo (very low light) but it turned out nicer than expected in PP. (Mostly it's the other way around, I am excited about a photo, then look at it at home at the big screen and go, Oh, that's it?)

179/E43) Common Wood Pigeon (Columba palumbus) / Ringeltaube.

Tiebelmündung, 30/3/2024. Found it amusing that this was considered a very exciting bird in Oman - it's one of their rarest breeding birds.
