And all the ones we didn't catch on camera....

bateleurs (loads of them, but all very high in the sky)

crimson breasted shrike (too shy)

sandgrouse (not sure which type - too fast to see)

black shouldered kite (no suitable place to stop - loads on telegraph poles)

Cape mourning dove - didn't bother, as I didn't know about this section then :(

glossy starling (ditto)

Yellow and red billed hornbills (ditto)

Blacksmith plover (ditto)

Mynah bird (ditto)

Cattle egret (ditto)

Egyptian geese (ditto)

Swainson's spurfowl (ditto)

Saddle billed stork (too far away for a decent shot)

I'm sure that there were many more but these are the ones which spring to mind.....

Nice!

A few things though: The wattled thrush is a wattled starling, the Dickinson's kestrel is a cuckoo, either European or African (don't have a book at my hand).

Black chested korhaan is a black-bellied korhaan (spell error I guess), Burchell's coucal is Senegal coucal and Southern white crowned shrike is a lesser grey shrike

first was a typo (brain misremembered)

second - misidentified from the book, but still a new species for me - the dangers of a self-drive without a qualified guide ;)

third - again misremebered - my book just calls them black, without a belly or a chest!

fourth - I have no ****** idea how you tell the difference between these - the pictures in the book look identical to me..but another new species - thanks

fifth - me relying on memory rather than using the book
