Correct. Whilst adorable and competent in every way the Lady G has no input to BY. Indeed it may be hinted that her views on our motivation are somewhat akin to another  senior lady on the adjacent island

You could console Lady G with a cautionary tale....

 

The father of a friend of mine was what I would call an 'obsessive' birder. He had a pager on him all the time that would ping with alerts when an interesting species was sighted, anywhere in the country. 

Once 'pinged' he would get into the car and go straight there. It was a real problem for his marriage and his finances. 

He was obliged to seek counselling to wean him off his addition.

 

I'm nowhere near that bad, and I suspect you also have some way to go to reach those extremes.
