Epic. Great photos of some difficult species. I blinked when I saw the Rwenzori Apalis.

Amazement. I had never heard of this and had to look it up. Yet I was stood next to Z when she took that.

Somebody has been reading his book!

Phew, the first birding "minefield" is behind me, no "casualties" when passing it. Now there is already the next one to walk through .

Careful in that Minefield. I should standstill and then back out slowly.

African Grey Flycatcher does not occur in Uganda.

Check your checklist. If it is what I think it is 'we' have added a species to our score.

Then it is Muscicapa striata. Ther BofEA has it brown and no white of edges but Robert's and Collin's and Britain's Birds has it almost exactly as it appears on the photo. Correct?

Are you through the minefield yet?

Yes. I suggest Spotted Flycatcher for African. There are white edges to the primaries etc., in some books and can be seen on my photos from yesterday too.

So we have another tick to go on the check list.:D

Now for the latest bunch.

Technically #274 is Cassin's Grey Flycatcher. I know not why the grey is needed unless he has another of a different colour or if the powers that be like to split birds into colours to keep things tidy.

Best of the bunch has to be the ubiquitous Swampy based purely on the quality of your shot rather than rarity the prize for which would go to Chapin's.

Great! What is the current count on that list?

Several sources has it as Cassin's Flycatcher only - https://birdsoftheworld.org/bow/species/casfly1/cur/introduction .

Mostly :D. There will be one question mark where I hope I have got it right due to the elevation and tail ;). And one EBC .

Last of the Flycatcher family, more colourful and thus easier to ID.
