About your Wahlberg´s - haven´t checked the books but my first impression was juv. Gymnogene.

My vote is for Wahlberg's. Gyms don't have a gape. It is a dark phase W.

Well done on passing 100. Yet another very successful trip to SA.

The Striped Swallow in particular is beautiful

thanks @Kitsafari and @TonyQ - we were lucky, both that the sun was actually out (an issue with this trip) and that they didn't fly off as we slowly stopped next to them!!

Oh dear @Galana that rather ruins my count. I have a more distant shot which hopefully is an osprey…..I will check.

Congrats on the century and some lovely shots. I particularly, like the swallows, Oxpecker and the Thick-knee

Sorry about that. :( But easier to remedy than a missed Martial. Nothing that a quick trip to Rutland Water or Cumbria can't fix.:)https://www.cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk/wildlife/cams/osprey-cam

I was talking about my Kruger count. We had bad weather in Letaba, which is usually bird rich and so we were scrabbling around for the last few days desperate to get #200. As it happens, I forgot to add the "osprey" to my list, so we still managed to scrape together 200 after all - phew!!

As we left for the evening game drive, there was a huge commotion in the bushes to the side of the entrance with lots of different small birds alarm calling and jumping about. We found out later from our neighbours that there was a massive python, hence the commotion!

There was also a green-backed cameroptera which I was too slow to catch. I fear it may have been my only chance this trip....
