Zim Girl's 5th Big Year 2022

So I got to the 150 UK birds which I am really happy about.  There are still one or two more in the area that may be possible if we are really lucky.  For example, there is a female black redstart that has been flitting between the airport and a local supermarket car park for a few weeks, but is apparently 'very mobile', so not sure if I can be bothered to try and chase it down.

So for now I will post my Zambia birds, while I am waiting for the weather to get better.

First batch of birds from our Sept/Oct trip to Kafue NP in Zambia.  Full trip report can be found here https://www.safaritalk.net/topic/22237-stuff-doing-stuff-a-return-to-the-kafue/#comments.

I am just posting them in the order they were taken.  We didn't go out of our way to get numbers of birds, just took what we came across.  We probably could have got an awful lot more if we had tried harder.

Congratulations on the UK 150. I haven’t added up mine, but it’ll be a fraction of that :( probably even in a good year!

Great Barnie in flight and a good start with your Zambian birds.

Congratulations on a beautiful #150 ! I’ve never even had a sighting like that, let alone a photo. A good start to your Zambia birds.

I quite enjoy the challenge of getting the UK birds so was pleased to get there, still might get another one or two but will have to be quite lucky!
