Excellent sightings and photos of of the Barred Warbler and the Montagu’s Harrier - we have never seen either!

Both are almost guaranteed sightings in Seewinkel. But yes, the Barred Warbler was a poser :D.

barred warbler was a real poser but the lesser kestrel was a good catch even on the wrong side of the sun.

Exact itinerary will be given in the upcoming trip report.

Any chance of the Thailand report in the near future, Alex?

Oh my, I know, I owe you this one. But you will have to wait till autumn when the weather will be too cold and wet for riding the bike -_-.

Michael invited us to join him and Andreas for a weekend birding at Seewinkel. As we have been there in the spring, there were only a few new birds for us.

A good outing indeed, with friends and Dolce Vita ice cream ... but only a consolation price for missing out Botswana.

It is difficult to get new birds from local grounds. I have spent 5+ hours at Škocjanski zatok to finally add one more.

Local birding has become very species specific affair at this late stage of Big Year. As I know that Dipper sightings at Kamniška Bistrica river near Domžale are almost guaranteed, that was the location and the bird for today assignement. And I was lucky, not only that I have seen the bird but got a chance to take photos from a water level. If only the light would be better. I know those are too many photos posted for only one species, yet I am showing you only 2% of total taken :D.
