I know, I was amazed too. Handheld with the OH holding the torch. In fact, I had to turn the brightness down!

This one was a bit of an epic fail. We were just entering Kalahari tented camp when what I thought was a small raptor flew across in front of us. It was raining quite heavily and I handed the OH the 7D to try and get a quick snap from the drivers seat. Unfortunately he did not realise it was set to back button focussing (it had been a long transfer day), so presumably the camera focussed on a raindrop. Despite seeing it again the next day, a photographic opportunity did not present itself. It was a new bird for the park though.
