Beeing close to the airport an with our flight to leave namibia scheduled to 2:30pm meant that we would leave the lodge only at 11:00am, with enough time to do something, like birding B).

According to the lodge website they were supposed to provided 2 hours guided birdwatching tours, which I sign for, I had to insist and it was booked for 7:00am. Then our game drive guide said he would be the birdwatching guide as well, although he wasn´t a birder himself, that gave me the idea of doing a birdwatching drive instead of the walk, when he saw I was the only costumer (the rest prefered to sleep) he said there was a problem because they had to charge for 2 persons, in the end the price for 2 persons was 50 euros which I gladly paid for a 2 hour (in fact it would be 3 hours) private birdwatching drive, a great decision even if the guide knew very little about birds, it was a really pleasant drive, with great weather, we also walked a bit and I got same cool new species.

And back at the lodge the last species from the trip, one that I saw once here in Portugal, where it occurs only in a couple of places during summer.

N106, White-rumped swift (Apus caffer))

And that´s it, I´m quite happy with the total of the trip, which included 60 new species, and the trip was really great, we loved Namibia and will return for sure, to see a bit more of Damaraland and visit etosha, teh caprivi Strip is also a place I would like to visit, maybe combined withe Victoria falls.

Looks like a week well spent Pedro, a lovely trip report you sneaked into this Big Year. And a good number of birds. Your numbering is a bit confusing but it seems you made it past 100 this year - congrats. I hope to follow in your footsteps next year. :)

A grande finale to include your century.  Hats off.

Thanks for taking us along to Namibia with you and very pleased you enjoyed the country. You will return as you have yet to see much more.

That´s because I´m not doing a big year, I´ll just add to my life counts, Portugal (right now with no additions) and World , and I made a count for the trip, the total was 106 ;).
