Day 10

This morning we were to leave the park.

The plan was to be packed up and left Lower Sabie around 8am.

I decided to do an early drive and be back at camp by 6.30am.

Well the postman like's early deliveries.

I headed southwards and saw this Giant Kingfisher on the lower water bridge.

Day 10 4.jpeg

I was going to turn down the S28 and saw a animal on the side of the road a few hundred metre's away on the bend in the road.

At first I thought it was an impala because of the yellow golden coat, but as my eye's adjusted it was a lioness - was she alone?

Day 10 5.jpeg

No, she wasn't, as I got closer there were 2 other males.

There were only 2 other cars there and I missed the 2 males fighting over the female by about 4-5 minutes :( .

But still awesome to be with these cats only a few metre's away.

No 1 male

Day 10 34.jpeg

In total there was 3 males and 2 females.

I had to leave as it was just after 6 am and I had to go pack.

The early bird caught the work this morning.

We were all packed up and on the road heading south.

The plan was to exit at Malelane gate - which gave us a good long drive out of the park.

By the time we drove past the lions around 8.30am they were gone.

A few more pics on the way out.

Leopard on the S25 - quite a distance away.
