The water surface background color adds intensity.

It's a compelling image. I like it a lot!

Thank you for posting it.

Your image exceeds any and all superlatives.

Maybe “as good as it gets” might do.

Stunning indeed @Geoff - was the Martial Eagle flying over water?   I ask because the underwings are well-lit like sometimes happens with pelagic birds...

Also - careful or Game Warden will bust you for not doing a TR yet   :-)

@offshorebirder Just some very basic post processing to lighten the underwing area.

I promised myself I'd do a TR before my next trip in October. The problem has been finding the time to process images. I now have enough done that I can at least start a TR (hopefully this week) but it will begin in Zambia not Kenya (where the Martial eagle was captured).

Another Lappet Faced Vulture.

Not a particularly exciting shot but I'm pleased that I identified this correctly after our guide had said it was something else.

Nice shots @Geoff and yes looks like an adult Ruppell's Griffon Vulture.  The pale bill tip and lack of a white panel on the underwings would seem to eliminate White-backed Vulture.

I like the vulture theme, so here is another.

KaingU Lodge

We have had a media group here and on the first day they were blown away by the river in the early morning at sunrise.  So we took some of them out yesterday morning and to my astonishment JohnD and I saw that the skimmers had arrived (first sighting of the season).  I remarked to John that I was then hoping for mist, skimmers and sunrise and so was marginally surprised that it came together - although at a fair old distance.
