Beautiful. Especially the Major Mitchell's. But I've commented on them before.

A few very special ones for flight shots! I’ve never managed to catch a kingfisher like you did, excellent!

We've had a good winter for Short-Eared Owls in the UK:

@pomkiwi. Excellent shots. I love Short-eared Owls. Where did you see/photograph these ones?

Thank-you. These were taken just outside Hawling on the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire (not too far from Cheltenham).

Juvenile Barn Swallows were flying up and down a ditch in the local meadows. Though the light was not ideal I decided to try and photograph them. Their erratic flight, the surface of the water and the green reeds at the edge made focussing very hard, but after applying the software focus limiter in the camera (setting it to 2-20 metres) I had at least some succes. And a lot of fun trying, of course...;)

Fun ????? I would never have put you down as having masochistic leanings Peter !!!!! I usually end up wanting to throw my kit in the nearest lake when photographing Swallows etc.

Excellent shot too.
