@michael-ibk

I am pleased we are getting to see the Ethiopian birds - a great start. Especially good to see the Black stork doing its fishing!

Birds first report later ... now we know your preferences, @michael-ibk! With 900 on offer, you are again aiming high this year.

Thanks guys. More of the Black Heron coming up in the report, @TonyQ and @lmSA84 , I was very happy to see it hunt - has been on my wish list for quite a while.

Well, @xelas , Lynn has already started the report today, so it´s only a few birds first. And 900 birds may be around but we only covered a small percentage of the country, had two weeks and birds were not the main target. So let´s see if I even got a tenth of that number. B)

I agree completely about the Black Heron shots: excellent! Looking forward to your other Ethiopian species @michael-ibk and of course your trip report!

115/ET21.) Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) / Sichler

I´ve seen this bird in Europe. It´s a very rare migrant to Austria but quite common in Catalonia. This one was seen at Lake Awasa.

Seen a couple of times during this trip. As is my problem with many very common birds I never really made an effort for a good shot. From Lake Awasa.

-/ET26.) Lesser Flamingo (Phoeniconaias minor) / Zwergflamingo

Every bird counts? Well, almost, even by my modest standards this photo is too poor so I don´t include it in the overall count. Just inserted here for complecity´s sake. Seen from very, very far away driving through the Rift Valley.
