Without any doubts, following was The Bird Of The Week (and Michael will surely explain why so).

I thought you had been quiet too long.;)

Some lovely photos there. Invidious to pick out any but the Spoonbill landing does it for me.

A great set to come back with: Imperial Eagle, Montagu's Harrier and excellent photos, too!

I wish to thank Michael for his expert guiding, and Andreas for forcing us to have the Cardinal Schnitte break each day.

Nothing expert about that, and the pleasure was all ours!B)

And I have to say you are literally giving yourself too little credit - I know for a fact that some of these photos are yours.

Tell us about Cardinal Schnitte....

@TonyQ it is a "Kardinalschnitte". And for to find out what it is (an incredible delicacy, I will tell that much) you and Sheila will simply have to join us next year in Seewinkel. :)

Without any doubt, the most impressive regular bird at Seewinkel! The male displays are over the top ... only problem is one need to have a really powerful scope as they are always keeping themselves well away from the boundaries set for us humans.

It was the driest year in last decade or two, so waders were not as many as I have hoped for. But then, they were easy to find, as only a few lakes had enough water for them.

Great shot of the Bustard, the extra firepower of your 500 really comes in handy.

Cropping the hell out of those photos also, and doing some magic with PP also helped.

For others, even guys next to us, with 1200 mm FOV artilery did not get much better photos, as there was just too much of atmospheric disturbances. When the sun get out, the soil started to warm up; before that, ISO is in the Himalayas :( ...

I've heard my first cuckoo today, near our house, which reminded me that I still have birds to post fro Seewinkel.

Same location and same distance as Great Bustard. And way smaller bird. An EBC candidate ? Not really.

Excellent birds and photos from Seewinkel, with Owls, Syrian Woodpecker and a great flight shot of the Cuckoo! A rewarding area, but that I already knew....
