Never mind the light. That Blue-mantled Flycatcher is an epic tick!

Great to see you coming up on the rails at teh last minute. You need more holidays.

But the stars of the show for me where the Kingfishers. Seven species can be seen in the area. I saw all seven, although I only managed photos of 6. The one that eluded me is the Mangrove. Three others are already in the count (Pied, Malachite and Brown-hooded).

I went to the municipal dam several times, and on at least three of my visits, I saw four or more species of Kingfisher within a half an hour!

And with that, I have equaled my previous best year.

That's nearly 60 birds from our holiday. In all, I photographed nearly 100 species in the area.

And with that, I end 2019's Big Year.

what a great way to end you BY. Stunning Pygmy Kingfisher.

The municipal dam you refer to; is that at Morgan's Bay or near home?

No apologies needed. Stunning!

The beginners and overture were good enough but the finale takes one's breath away!

Although I did have a moment's sympathy for the froglet paying the ultimate price for the sake of your Art!

Incredible finish Peter, great birds and Photos. The Kingfishers are splendid of course, but I especially like the Grey Wagtail with the glorious green background and the acrobatic Village Weaver!
