What a lovely Cuckoo. Tropical ones always look so nice.

Excellent Quail portraits too and I always admire the eyes of a BW Kite.

yes you can! it's fine to overcount (don't tell the others I told you this <_<) but not good to undercount.

Thanks @Galana i've always found the BW kites quite stunning lookers.

here are a couple of shots of the juveniles in the nest and just fledged. They've since taken to the skies and are being taught by the adults to hunt and eat on the wings.

If I needed my 'O' levels to make  a living I would be destitute and unable to afford a day trip to Bognor let alone the Safaris I have taken.

Exam results are meaningless. A snapshot in time so get counting for BY.

Stunning Quail! And what a fascinating snake, great photos! I also am slightly uncomfortable around them but still enjoy seeing them a lot.

Beautiful photos again! I do admire Herman for his dedication in getting the Quail shot and it certainly paid off.

148. Coconut Lorikeet, Singapore Botanic Garden

149. Blue-streaked Lory, Singapore Botanic Garden

Both species are uncommon introduced residents to Singapore, although the coconut lorikeets have established a larger foothold. Both the lorikeet and the lory are native to Indonesia's Moluccas islands and New Guinea regions. The two species have been interacted with each other and we suspect they've produced some hybrids as well.

150. Chestnut Munia, Central Boulevard

These 2 posed beautifully for  us right at the end of the photo session. A pair that lingered after its cousins the scaly-breasted and white-headed munias flew off just as we crept towards them. They were scattered in scraggly bushes on undeveloped land at the fringe of the financial district ( photo right below).

152. Sunda Scops Owl, Pasir Ris Park

A challenging owl to find as it's only 23cm and this pair loves to hide inside this dark and dense thicket.

153. Long-tailed Parakeet, Singapore Botanic Garden

an uncommon resident in danger of being pushed out by the other two more gregarious foreign parakeets. Hope we'll get a better photo but this is not regularly seen, so I'll just stick this in first.

Just one shot in light drizzle before the treeswift switfly flew off and vanished. we gave up when the drizzle became heavier. thus, not a great shot.
