wonder if I should book the air tickets before the fares rocket up.

Yes good point. Though to be honest we have given up on overseas this year and booked 10 days in Broome instead.

Lucky you. One of my favourite places in Australia, especially after a dusty drive along the Gibb River Road.

I'm sure you've got it all worked out, but you may like to check out Jubilee Downs station; not too far outside Broome. Self catering accom and some excellent birding.

Almost there with me also. I may not even be let out of the Broom cupboard if things don't improve.

As things stand I must pass through UK and there is a £5,000 fine for holiday travel. Plus quarantine on return but nobody is saying whether I can transit from one plane to the next and duck the quarantine on my return as I face 14 days anyway once home.

Conversely I can get to UK and drive willy nilly from John o'Groats to Landsend as often as I like.

Took a few stakeouts before this sneaky shy nervous bird finally showed itself,

funny that, Moorhen common as and not at all shy here(just remembered I don't have one yet!) So many amazing new birds, loved seeing the three Pond Herons and some really nice Shorebirds.

A fantastic, inspiring 100, your collection would be a great promo for Singapore birding Tours.

Maybe a new business for Kit and Herman - I would take that tour!

thanks @elefromoz and @shazdwn. There's a safaripal option!

You're going to be busy once we can all travel again Kit. If you're planning to go on safari you'd better leave the keys with a neighbour. :P

One good thing to come out of this dreadful scourge is the number of places seen that previously would have held little interest. I wonder if Lady G will fall for the line "I think it time to make a change from that rough living in Africa and try a nice city break in some where like Singapore dear."

Tell Lady G  - there's tonnes of air-conditioned shopping malls, and good cheap food and always a chilled Tiger beer.

What a chase this emerald cuckoo led us on. this is a female, a duller version of the more  stunning male.

117. Square-tailed Drongo Cuckoo, Pulau Ubin

The square-tailed drongo cuckoo and a little bronze cuckoo (no photo of this) were also stealing some of the attention from the emerald cuckoo. All were feasting on a fruiting tree with plenty of grubs and caterpillars
