NIce to see you posting here @FlyTraveler. :-)

Wow, that must have been an extremely grumpy Rhino. Beautiful night photos, especially love the one with the Elephants.

Thank you, @michael-ibk

We came across an extremely grumpy Black Rhino in KZN. A male White Rhino took off the minute he saw him coming towards the waterhole and Mr Grumpy stomped around marking the area as his before taking a drink.

@FlyTravelerAny idea why the Rhino charged? If the guide couldn't get away maybe you were too close?

We were about 50 meters away, not too close. The problem was that we just came out of some mopani bushes to open plains and the Rhino was right there. Perhaps we should have not stopped, but it seemed to us far enough. The Rhino accelerated quicky, I didn't have time even to take a photo.

Well you certainly have a memory to last a lifetime! I believe Rhinos can run at 30-35mph which is a fair speed! I remember seeing a film clip way back in the 50's or 60's of a Rhino repeatedly charging a truck on the TV series "On Safari" with Armand and Michaela Denis. It's stuck in my memory and I wasn't there!!
