@@Peter Connan - We were in a white Toyota Hilux double cab, rented from Kalahari 4X4, with their logos on the side. I will be posting some photos soon, before @@Game Warden returns from his Christmas break ;)

Kavita, I think we discussed this lion at Melkvlei? We saw a couple of those though.

The lions of Kgalakgadi were affected by Canine Distemper Virus a few years back, could well be that it resurfaced.

South Luangwa NP - November 2013

 

A pride at rest. For those who saw the BBC 2 programme "Countdown To the Rains" this is the pride that were referred to as The Hollywood Pride.

Three male lions in their prime sleeping through the day in Ndutu, Serengeti.

We kept passing by to see if they had got up to do anything but they were sleeping for hours and hours.

Hi egilio, this pride were photographedon the western side of the river. The Saltpan pride in the Nsefu sector were a much smaller pride; this larger pride did cross the river and ventured into the Nsefu sector but then crossed back to their territory.
