I put the second photo in to show how small they are compared to a gull. I am often surprised by how small many waders are (I am a slow learner!)

Not as commonly seen as a number of the other warblers. This was only our second sighting - the previous on (last year) was a few hundred metres away from this one!

And for 300, I have chosen

300.UK90. Dipper  Cinclus cinclus

Dipper-2.jpg.aef057bd21cefb6abdfcf18b26534012.jpg

Wyre Forest, Worcestershire  12.05.2019

Only my third sighting of a dipper and the first locally. We have looked for them on this river a few times, but this was our first success. (It is about 100m from the Mandarin above). I think they are lovely birds, and their behaviour is very interesting.

We were delighted to see that there was also a chick present (a first for us), and then

We noticed there were 2 chicks!, Wyre Forest, Worcestershire  12.05.2019

Congratulations, @TonyQ! Any of your last 5 birds would be great candidates for #300; personally I would chose Mandarin, such a colourful duck. Who cares if it is not a local one :D.
