Almost missed that you have reached the second milestone! Congratulations for #200, and I predict that another "200 (from india) will also be reached.

Congratulations Tony, the Sunbird is very special indeed. And it seems one has to go to India to get great Pintail photos.

I will need all of your expertise (or tolerance!) for the next postings............

Pipits!

I have tried to narrow down the selection from my bird book - it has a page of Larger Pipits and a page of Smaller Pipits.

Then when looking at larger pipits I looked at location to narrow it down further.

All of the Larger Pipits I had were in Satpura (apart from one unusable from Kaziranga). This meant Paddyfield Pipit, Blyths's Pipit or Tawny Pipit

So my attempt (any contradictions welcome - any confirmations even more welcome :D)

(Dark lores, crown not so clearly streaked, beak straighter, coverts more triangular)

Pale lores, streaked crown, curved beak, diamond shape coverts.

Am I 100% confident? - what do you think?

Smaller Pipits

Satpura appears to be Tree Pipit or Olive-backed Pipit.

In Kaziranga it is likely to be Olive-backed or Rosy Pipit. Non-breeding Rosy Pipits are not very Rosy!

So I have gone for

204.In164. Rosy Pipit  Anthus roseatus

No expertise here, so you'll have to settle for patience...

Good shots though.

Same here on both counts!

Same here and conscious of the old adage of fools rushing in where experts fear to tread.;)

So all I will add is that I can see no reason to challenge any of your subjects although the white outer tails feathers are distinctive.

Well done.

I will continue then......

Count me in for opting out on the Pipits, they all look the same to me which is why I don't bother posting them! Great set of images though.
