Nice present, nice photos! So, there is a "birdwatching mode" on this camera?

There are lots of modes, one of them is “birdwatching”, however I don’t think ithis camera will be good for BIF photos neither to when a quick focus is needed.

So you now have the same camera as another leopard. They are quite good and priced well  so I won't be surprised at next year's results.

Having had mine around 12 months now I did not even know there was a Birdwatching mode.:o I must take a look next year as I need to do better. I am on "P" all the time but I think you will find that what the camera really lacks is a manual zoom. I do miss my Fuji.

I found out about the birdwatching mode in Alex Rogers thread. As you say the lack of manual zoom is a downside of the camera but I have that in the DSLR, I think (or Ihope) they will complement each other well.

Happy New Year Pedro. Looks like Father Christmas delivered a useful bit of kit. As Peter says, first results look very promising!

Thanks @Dave Williams, and a Happy 2020 for you too, today I already went out with the new camera to start BY 2020 and I will probably go out again in the next few days since I don´t expect to work until Monday.

I had saved a few duplicates but I just going to upload one because I really like the picture and although it´s not one for the count I think it´s a nice image to end my first BY, it was taken in a hide in the Arrábida hills, some 50k from home:
