156) Great Horned Owl - 16 July 

 

I just could not get enough of this owl. But I was shaking terribly from excitement and loosing the light.

I'm working through my missed list and should have some to add sometime soon. I also booked a proper pelagic birding tour for the second week of September. Even though we're going far off-shore, I'm going to cheat and count those in my "county" list :P 

 

One of the whale cruises here locally saw jumping bluefin tuna and I thought that was just the coolest.

A brief interlude....thought you might appreciate some sightings of local wildlife! 

 

Terrible lighting conditions, but these otters were pretty cute and weird on land.

I see skunks on nearly every evening walk. I love them!

Some of the local breeding harbor seal population. They seem to be struggling in recent years do to too much harassment, warming water, and fishery depletion.

Nice to see some of your mammals too.

Loved the Phalaropes. I shall dip on mine this year due to Covid.
