@pedro maia

We once spoke to a filmmaker who said all of his best sunsets were filmed at sunrise !

First picture was taken inside the tent camp with lots of twigs around the bird, next one was from the photo hide, it´s only a pity that his colours are very similar to the mud, but still I like the picture.

A great sighting in the final moments of our first game drive, great spotting by our tracker, it was a bit far from the car so I was surprised to get this shots with the bridge camera.

The second Meyer's parrot picture is quite lovely with the muted colours and nice reflection.

BeeEaters always get my vote and I like middle pose. Nice capture of the Verreaux's Owl. You even caught the pink eyelids.

I don't think your first shot is of a Lark like Bunting. The waterhole hide one maybe as it appears in the Cinnamon breasted photo too.

So who is the stranger in 166? Clue. It is NOT a Bunting or a Sparrow or any of those difficult Widow/Whydah lot females.

That means I have homework to do on that 166...

The only possibility that occurs to me for 166 1st photo is a juvenile Red-billed Quelea, although the bill is a bit different, here´s another picture:

And this one I think there´s no doubt that it is a Lark-like Bunting:

Not a Quelea.

2nd is a LLBunting with pinkish legs.

Your target has grey legs.

Here is one I prepared earlier...;)

Some nice photos Pedro, and I'm jealous of you being in Africa :-) I see you also shoot on a bridge camera - what do you use?

Well maybe you may see its close relative that occurs in Iberia. Good luck.

Thanks Alex but I´m not in Africa anymore, it was a super short trip, now I´m in the Algarve, in the South of Portugal, ending my vacations.

The bridge camera I have is a Canon PowerShot SX540 HS, just a simple one.

While I try to solve the 166 ID here goes another batch:

1519909978_19-KoriBustard.jpg.6d46973bab9665df4bbce51261b35ebf.jpg

The national bird from Botswana, last year in September we saw quite a few so when we saw one during the transfer from the border to tent camp I didn´t bother to take photo, this was the second one we saw and I took the "safety photo" and I´m glad I did it because it was the last one we saw.
