You ´re cruel, I´ll get later, I have to .

Which is the better teaching method? Give the pupil the answer or have them look it up and perhaps remember it?:o

Some nice photos you have taken. The Hawk Eagle and the middle Crimson Shrike particularly noteworthy.

I´m happy with the method, but you know that complaining is part of human nature ^_^.

I´ll get it, eventually...

@Galana, 166 is driving me crazy, I just can’t find a bill that matches that one, and I have the feeling that I will feel very stupid when I find out which one is that bird...

Dave Williams

Getting the Namaqua in flight was a bonus. Stunning wing colour.

Next birds were first (or only) seen inside tent camp.

More nice birds. Keep them coming.

#166  OK. I can't keep you dangling for ever and supplying clue after clue. The Iberian cousin I referred to is the Rock Sparrow Petronia petronia.

Your bird is Yellow-throated Petronia. Petronia supercialiaris  Sometimes called Yellow-throated Bush Sparrow and just to confuse us mortals even further can be given the scientific name Gymnoris.

I´m relieved, I thought I was missing something obvious but a sparrow that isn´t a sparrow, a non-sparrow-sparrow, I would never get there, thanks, I owe you this one.

Sometimes it´s worth it to run though the pictures a few times, that´s why I found this one this morning, seen from the camp hide, and I think I have the right ID.

And now we enter EBC territory, this one deserved better but in Mashatu there isn´t much water now and it was the only one we saw (we didn´t see it last September) and took off by surprise from a tree and I wasn´t able to get anything better than this:

To finish this batch, here´s what I think is a well deserved tribute to the EBC master, @Galana, I just couldn´t help counting this one in order to try to compete with it´s Kunene cousin:

#188/BT 29, 18/8, Fiery-necked Nightjar, Mashatu

It was on this branch when we entered camp in the end of our afternoon game drive, he flew and got back to the same branch twice, when I took these pictures, didn´t give time to more attempts, with the spotlight we saw it clearly flying and it was IDeed by our tracker and ranger without doubts.
