I took a photograph of a flock of Red Bishops on top of a tree and it was much later when I looked at it I realised I had a new addition for my BY. They all count!

Excellent collection from Senegal.I think I would have put  #476 down as a Goliath Heron.

Oh Nooooooooooooo! I think you are right Peter. Merlin thinks so too.Didn't seem big enough to be honest.

 

 

Just been looking and my Heron has a Black Crown I think! That indicates Purple Heron.....anyone else?

It is a Goliath Heron. Purple Heron, apart of a black stripes on the side of the neck also has pale legs while yours has dark legs.

Thanks Michael. Not too sure that Senegal is as good as The Gambia, certainly not where I was. I have to finish my TR yet.
