Well ‘proper’ is a tricky concept these days  This is what Wikipedia says about the teal’s name:

“Several authorities still refer to this species as the Hottentot teal, however, as the word "Hottentot" is an offensive term for the Khoisanpeople, there has been a movement to change the vernacular name.”

 

Congrats on reaching 100 and already way beyond. Many great photos, also of the Amboseli landscape!

Where will this end? As I said above 'they' will be objecting to Pygmy Falcon or Goose next as offensive to the BaTwa and Dwarf Kingfisher or Bittern. As for the poor maligned Booby who knows their feelings.
